Going Step by Step with the Solis Electrical Team

By October 29, 2019News

Each job presents its particular challenges and measure of success. When Target needed a 2000 Amp switched out in Wheaton, IL, the Midwest team jumped at the chance to get the unit replaced as quickly as possible without disturbing normal store functioning.

The photos below show each step of the job. Once power was shut down, the Solis team had everything installed, up and running in just 2 days.

Here is the utility cabinet and unit that needed replacing.

2

We hooked up a temporary 1k generator to power the entire building while the new unit was being installed. The rental cost of this generator was steep and the temporary unit was powered by 15k gallons of diesel fuel so we worked quickly in order to save the customer money.

3

Before we could install the new unit, we had to demo the slab from the old unit.

4

The new slab was a custom order, engineered by the Solis team. Using a new pre-cast slab cut three days off the job because the concrete didn’t have to cure. This resulted in a big savings for our customer since it cut down the time the temporary generator sat on the site.

5

Once the pre-cast slab was in place, we brought in the new unit.

6

The Solis team was able to jump right in to get the new unit wired and ready to go.

7

The wiring was completed and it was time to test the unit before putting the covers in place.

8

Once the Solis electrical team assessed that the wiring was complete, the covers could be put on and the unit was intact and fully energized. Speed, efficiency and coordination among Solis team members added up a successful job that saved Target money in generator rental and on the cost of diesel fuel.
